Physical Therapist Benefits & Referrals

An FCE offers numerous benefits for physicians, employers, attorneys, physical therapists, and insurers.

• Provides accurate functional information to assist the patient’s physician with RTW determination. Without the FCE, extrapolating an injured worker’s abilities and limitations during the typical one-hour appointment is nearly impossible.
• Provides accurate data on whether the patient is ready to return to work or requires further, more intense rehabilitation.
• Angaran RE-Habilitation’s mobile service extends therapists’ existing onsite services.

Referrals

Physicians, case workers, vocational specialists, physical therapists, attorneys, insurers, and employers can all refer the client to an FCE. In Hawaii, physical therapists are permitted to evaluate clients without a physician referral.
