FCE Uses

Angaran RE-Habilitation’s FCE system, the WorkWell System adheres to the principles of Safety, Reliability, Validity, Practicality, and Utility. Angaran RE-Habilitation also benefits from WorkWell’s ongoing, rigorous research to ensure testing remains safe, reliable, valid, practical, utilizable – and effective.

The FCE is used to conduct tests for Return to Work (RTW) determination, further therapy determination, disability determination, work or worksite modifications, or job-specific needs.

• Return to Work (RTW): answers the question, “Is the client ready to return to work and if so, in what capacity?” When the client’s physical abilities match the job duties on a validated Functional Job Description, Angaran Re-Habilitation can recommend returning to work. This recommendation is the optimum outcome for the FCE.
• Further therapy determination: determines that the client requires further rehabilitation prior to returning to work, typically in the form of work conditioning.
• Disability determination: provides objective medical-legal evaluation to assist insurance carriers and other service providers in determining the client’s disability levels.
• Work or worksite modifications: provides direction for employers on modifying the task, job, or worksite to facilitate RTW for the client.
• Job-specific needs: tests specific items not addressed by basic FCE.
